Developments

Since October 2006 we have been praying for a location near Mzamom’Hle where weekend care could be given to children. In November 2012 a suitable location was offered us, 2 hectares of farmland including a dwelling where Wiebe and his family went to live. We plan to build a place for the children as soon as possible. The weekend care will mainly be for children who want to do the right thing but are easily pulled into the wrong due to the living circumstances in the Township. During their stay on the farm they will be involved in all possible activities like animal care, gardening, cooking and education. We may consider accommodating children fulltime when needed. We work together with social workers who are active in the Township.

We have been busy constructing a platform to build on

We realized that still much preparation and building would be needed before we could have the children come to the farm and so the decision was made to start with a smaller building added onto our garage. At the end of 2013 a start was made on this project.

During the weekends, with help from young men from the township, we did the foundations and the floor. And then the first 2 weeks of March 2014 four of my brothers and a brother-in-law came to build. Once this building is finished we can accommodate 12 children and when the larger building is build we can change the current building with 2 simple inside walls into 2 guest/volunteers rooms.

In April 2015 the building was finished and we started with the weekend care.

…the God and Father…comforts us in all our troubles so we can comfort those who are in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. (2Cor. 1:4)
